The admission is free and you can choose among a diverse palette of open source sessions  !  Do not wait too long to sign up because the conference rooms have limited capacity !

The city of Schoten is one of the 12 partners of the European Osepa-project  :   http://www.osepa.eu   One of the outputs of this project is a Best Practice Guide of open source cases in European Public Administrations.  We would like to collect as much open source cases as possible.  So everybody that wants to share his/her good open source case in his/her public administraton, please fill in your case on following link  :  http://bestpractices.osepa.eu/limesurvey/index.php?sid=62636

Hands-on Labs Open Source at Schoten

Open Source World Conference Malaga

In October this year, the fourth International World Conference on Open Source will take place in Malaga :

I attended the previous two editions and the conference is well worth the visit : a lot of eminent speakers (see website of the previous editions) and very well organised.

Additionally, the location is superb : a beautifull congress centre and a city that is situated in a mediterrian climate ... ;-)

In het kader van het "fête de l'internet" - "digitale week" (http://digitaleweek.fete-internet.be/) wordt in het Kasteel van Schoten een tweedaagse georganiseerd rond kennismaking met Vrije Software.

Het doelpubliek is jan-met-de-pet die wel eens wil weten wat er allemaal mogelijk is met Vrije Software.

Hands-on Labs Open Source

On Thursday, january 17, the Knowledge Centre of V-ICT-OR organizes a seminar on Open Source :

This seminar focusses on "hands-on labs" rather then on theoretical presentations and will be held in Schoten. Entrance is free (as in free beer ... ) but registration is necessary. There will be install-demo's of Drupal, OTRS, Webmin, Trixbox, ... .

The New York Times announces that you can order a One Laptop per Child computer during one week from 12 november on :

You must have a shipping address in the US or Canada ... but that will be no problem, stated that the correspondent in the US will have a fiscal benefit of 200 dollar ... ;-)
